Physics

Course number : SI106
« back to classes page
This course is for the layperson; no knowledge of physics or mathematics is required. Just bring your curiosity about the laws of nature, how they have shaped our world, and the impact they have on our everyday activities. How great that impact is may surprise you. Using ordinary language to explain equations and formulas, we’ll explore the major theories of physics: the beliefs of the ancients (e.g., flat Earth), Galileo’s observations and Newton’s laws of motion, Einstein’s theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, and the possibility of a “theory of everything.”
