This seminar will focus on lectures on anatomy, emphasizing bone structure and discussions on expression and ethnic differences. Three days of intensive work will be spent on sculpting a head in water-based clay while learning techniques to create successful portraits. Students will complete numerous exercises with step-by-step instruction, in addition to working from live models. The technique of preparation for firing water-based clay will be discussed, though firing services will not be provided during the workshop. All materials will be made available for use during the class. Students are also welcome to bring tools of their own that they prefer to use when sculpting. Note: All supplies are provided.
