Course number : HS111
« back to classes page
Can anything new be said about our 16th president? Historians and biographers still think so, and continue to produce books about Abraham Lincoln. Drawing from David Herbert Donald’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography Lincoln, this course will explore Lincoln’s life and career in the light of recent scholarly works. Participants need have no fear that this is a thesis-driven course. Everyone will be encouraged to participate in our discussion and to reach their own conclusions about a man who is so compelling because of his complexities.
