The Sacred and Profane within Human Nature

Course number : PY111
« back to classes page
Let’s turn back the pages of time to one of the world’s greatest psychological dramatists, Euripides, who catapults our consciousness to the soaring exaltation and depths of suffering inherent in being human. Four of his most compelling plays, read interactively, will engage us with the sacred and profane, as these themes work their way through the twists in the plot and into our hearts and minds. We will also follow these themes in carefully chosen full-length ?lms, pausing at critical points for discussion. The experience of Euripides’ intense dramas opens us to deepening compassion and understanding of human nature.
