Course number : LI154
« back to classes page
The mysteries you read as a guilty pleasure have delighted readers and supported writers for hundreds of years. This class will include the earliest examples of the different varieties of mysteries and how they became those we recognize. Some of the authors are extremely familiar, and others are practically unknown. We will discuss the various genres of mystery and their authors — starting in China and
encompassing the first half of the 20th century.
