“It takes two, baby . . .” that’s what Marvin Gaye said in 1967 when his duet with Kim Weston peaked at #14 on the Billboard pop charts. The “twofer” started gaining traction in the mid-1950s when rock began. Many duos were incredibly successful and racked up hit after hit (for example, The Everly Brothers) while other pairings were destined to become one-hit wonders. We will listen to and watch videos of many of these remarkable artists examining the reasons two singers band together.
