Course number :

Section Number :
Week D
« back to classes page
Color, brushstrokes, and imagination have no limits! Express your ideas as a sequence, a metamorphic transformation, or a single large-scale work. From diptychs to quadriptychs to hexaptychs, working from reality or imagination, the freedom of expression is expansive. This class introduces a variety of techniques and tools essential to acrylic painting, and explores the world of color and composition through figure and ground relationships, visual perception, and spatial concepts. Some drawing experience is helpful. All skill levels are welcome and prior students are encouraged to return. Students bring a sketchbook, drawing pencil, and eraser. Closed toe shoes (not crocs) are required in the studios/labs.
