This course is for students who have taken the introductory meditation class (Quiet the Mind, Relieve Stress, Find Peace with Meditation) or have experience with meditation practices. The focus will be on going deeper into stilling the mind with techniques such as mantras, visual aids, and walking meditation. We will explore the nature of consciousness and ego, using a non-theistic approach and drawing on Eckhart
Tolle’s ideas and Zen silent illumination. Two texts are recommended, but not required for this class: The Power of Now and Stillness Speaks, both by Eckhart Tolle; available from online vendors.
