Understanding Your HOA

Course number : EC106
« back to classes page
Why do we choose to live in a deed-restricted community? Many of us sign on the dotted line and then later discover that the advantages of
a Home Owner Association (HOA) don’t live up to expectations. Some of us don’t like the idea of living under restrictions promulgated by our neighbors. Others want more restrictions and rules and regulations. This course provides a conceptual overview of homeowner association: what it means to live in an HOA, what we should expect from an association, and what the association requires from us. In addition, you will gain an understanding of  the finances of an HOA and the Florida statutes governing these associations.
