How Doctors Think

Course number : HW102
« back to classes page
This course will use case discussions to highlight how internal medicine physicians are taught to think about problems in a certain way. Understanding that hidden structure reveals a great deal about how they interact with their patients and colleagues. An understanding of their thought processes also informs doctors’ attitudes toward healthcare, economics, and resource utilization. We will use the cases and theory to delve into current issues about healthcare quality and common assumptions about healthcare in the U.S.
