« back to classes page

This dynamic course invites students to explore painting beyond traditional boundaries by combining a wide range of materials and techniques into richly layered works of art. Using paint alongside pastel, charcoal, collage, and other mixed media, students will learn how to integrate diverse elements into cohesive and compelling compositions. Emphasis is placed on experimentation, material exploration, and strong compositional structure, guiding participants to develop depth, texture, and visual harmony. Through demonstrations, guided projects, and individual exploration, students will gain confidence in working across mediums while cultivating a personal and contemporary approach to image-making. This course is ideal for artists seeking to expand their creative vocabulary and push their work in new and exciting directions.

All supplies are included. Students are also welcome to bring tools of their own that they prefer to use when painting and mark-making.

Please note: The offering of Innovation Workshops is contingent upon meeting a minimum enrollment requirement. If the minimum enrollment is not met by the registration deadline, the College reserves the right to cancel the workshop. All enrolled participants will be notified at least two weeks prior to the start of the first scheduled class regarding the status of the workshop.
