Comparing Russia's Modern Wars: Ukraine and Afghanistan (OLLI)

This presentation examines the similarities and differences
between the Soviet War in Afghanistan and Russia’s War in
Ukraine. It describes the West’s — especially America’s —
reaction to each invasion. It covers how the invasions and
the counteractions to the invasions have had lasting and
unintended consequences that continue to reverberate.
