This course will examine the history of women in stand-up comedy, which is often thought of as a male bastion. From grungy clubs in Manhattan and Los Angeles, to headliner status on the world's greatest stages, women have claimed their share of the stand-up audience for generations. We'll look at who they were (and are) and all they've contributed to the art of stand-up comedy.
