Today we call them "chick flicks;” back then they were known as women's movies. This six-week classic film course features women's ensembles from the Golden Age of Hollywood (1927-1960s). Men serve merely as conduits to move the story forward. Each class begins with an introduction to the film, followed by a screening, then a lecture and discussion. The six films are: Stage Door, The Women, Letter to Three Wives, All About Eve, How to Marry a Millionaire, and The Opposite Sex. The roster of female stars?the likes of Hepburn, Davis, Crawford, among many others—will bring us laughter, tears, and yes, even a cat fight or two. So, fasten your seatbelts!
