This course proposes a focused exploration of The Atlantic magazine, renowned for its commitment to exceptional writing, analysis, and coverage of topical issues. The course is designed to foster a non-partisan environment where respectful debate and analysis are encouraged. By examining The Atlantic's approach to complex topics, students will increase their knowledge, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and celebrate the magazine’s tradition of blending insightful commentary with journalistic integrity.
Note: All students are required to purchase a subscription to The Atlantic magazine, which should include access to both the written and digital formats. Prior to each class, the instructor will assign specific articles from the current or previous month’s edition of the magazine. These articles will be discussed during class.
